Advice is only worth paying for if nothing bends it. This page sets out the standards that keep our recommendations pointed at one thing: what's right for your pet.
The principles
1. The methodology decides, nothing else. Every recommendation is generated by applying our published evaluation framework to your pet's circumstances: coverage, exclusions, annual limits, waiting periods, co-insurance, hereditary and breed-specific terms, and premium sustainability. See How We Make Recommendations. The framework is applied the same way to every pet, every time.
2. Commercial arrangements do not alter recommendations. No insurer can pay for a better position in our assessment, and no arrangement changes what we tell you. If any commercial relationship exists with an insurer whose policy we recommend, we disclose it, and any remuneration arising in connection with arranging a policy will be disclosed to you before you purchase.
3. Your recommendation is prepared before any purchase decision. You pay one fixed fee, up front. Your verdict is complete before the question of buying anything arises. Our revenue from the assessment is the same whether you buy the policy we recommend, buy something else, or buy nothing.
4. "Don't insure" is a complete answer. Sometimes the honest recommendation is not to purchase insurance at all, because of exclusions, pre-existing conditions, or simple economics. We deliver that verdict with the same care as any other, and the fee is the same either way.
5. Transparency beats sales. Where our advice has limits, we say so: we review the leading policies available in Singapore, not every policy; our assessment reflects policy terms at the time it's prepared; and insurers, not Vera, decide whether to accept applications and on what terms.
How this is enforced
- Our evaluation framework is published and applied consistently, assessments are AI-assisted precisely so that the same criteria are applied the same way, and every recommendation is reviewed by a human before delivery.
- The advisory fee is fixed and paid before your recommendation is prepared, removing the selling incentive at the structural level.
