Terms of Service

Welcome to Vera. These terms govern your use of our website and our pet insurance advisory service. By using our site or purchasing an assessment, you agree to them.

We've kept these terms as clear as we can. If anything doesn't make sense, email us at vera@vera-pets.co.

1. Who we are

Vera is a trading name of Delegate Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201511320E), 22 North Canal Road, #03-01, Singapore 048834. Insurance advisory services are provided through Gigacover Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201619282D) in accordance with its applicable regulatory arrangements. See our Financial Advisory Disclosure for how this works.

2. What we do

Vera provides a paid advisory service. You tell us about your pet; we review the leading pet insurance policies currently available in Singapore and recommend the option we assess as most suitable, which may include a recommendation not to purchase insurance at all.

Assessments are prepared using Vera's AI-assisted methodology: artificial intelligence tools help analyse your information against our evaluation framework, and every recommendation is reviewed by a human before delivery.

What we are not: - We are not an insurer. We do not underwrite or issue policies. - We are not a comparison website funded by insurer commissions or advertising placement. - We are not a veterinary practice. Breed risks and treatment costs in our assessments are general reference, not a veterinary assessment of your pet, and not quotes for its care. Speak to your vet. - We are not a law firm. Where we report a legal or licensing requirement (such as the third-party liability insurance Singapore law requires for Specified Dogs), we are reporting a published rule and citing it, not advising on it, and we cannot grant or interpret a licence. - We do not quote premiums. Policy wordings do not contain premiums; the insurer sets them at quote time. We do not state or estimate what a policy will cost you. - Our recommendation is advice, not a guarantee of any insurance outcome, claim result or premium.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Singapore to use our service. By purchasing an assessment, you confirm this.

4. Your obligations

Our recommendation is only as good as the information you give us. You agree to:

• provide accurate and complete information about yourself and your pet
• tell us about known medical conditions, symptoms and vet history
• use the service for your own pet, not for commercial resale of our advice

If information you provide is inaccurate or incomplete, our recommendation may not be suitable, and we are not responsible for consequences that follow from that.

5. Payment

Our fee is a one-time fixed fee, displayed clearly before you pay. Payment is processed by Stripe. Prices are in Singapore dollars and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

6. Refunds

Our refund terms are set out in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

7. The nature of our recommendation

• Recommendations are based on the information you provide and the policy terms publicly available or made available to us at the time of assessment.
• Insurers change their policies, premiums and underwriting from time to time. A recommendation reflects the position at the date it is issued.
• The decision to purchase (or not purchase) insurance is yours. The insurer, not Vera, decides whether to accept your application and on what terms.
• Nothing on our website constitutes advice until you have completed an assessment and received your recommendation.

8. Intellectual property

Everything on our site, including our methodology, assessment framework, reports, text, and design, belongs to Delegate Pte. Ltd. or its licensors. Your recommendation report is for your personal use. You may not reproduce, republish or commercially exploit our content without written permission.

9. Acceptable use

Don't misuse our site: no scraping, reverse engineering, attempting to breach security, submitting false information, or using the service to build a competing product.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law:

• We provide our service with reasonable care and skill, but we do not guarantee any particular insurance outcome, claim acceptance, premium, or coverage decision by any insurer.
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from inaccurate or incomplete information you provide.
• Our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the fee you paid for your assessment.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Singapore law, including under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003, or liability for fraud.

11. Electronic transactions

You agree that we may deliver assessments, recommendations, receipts and notices electronically, and that electronic records and signatures are valid in accordance with the Electronic Transactions Act 2010.

12. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, we want to know. Our Complaints Policy explains how to raise an issue and what to expect.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you purchase an assessment applies to that assessment. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
